How to change the Theme in Windows 7

Personalise your PC

Microsoft's Window operating system offers plenty of ways to customise the interface of your PC. We've already shown you how to change the background image on your PC but you can go one step further and change the theme. According to Microsoft a theme is a combination of pictures, colours, and sounds. Windows comes with a number of default theme, although it's also possible to download even more from Microsoft's dedicated website or personalise the existing theme to suit you. Here's how to change the theme in Windows 7.

Step one
From the Start menu select the Control Panel.

Step two
Select Appearance and Personalization, then press Change the theme.

Step three
Select from any of the default Windows 7 themes displayed. Now you'll be given the chance to personalise four aspects of the theme; desktop background, Windows colour, sounds and screen saver. To do this simply click on the aspect at the bottom of the window and select from the choices displayed.

Step four
When you're happy with the choices you've selected press Save Theme and you'll be required to enter a name for your theme and then press enter, ensuring it's stored and can be used again.

Step five
Alternatively, press Get more themes online to download further choices from Microsoft's dedicated website.
