Screen grab on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with Jelly Bean firmware

Problems with Samsung Galaxy Tab after upgrading to Jelly Bean

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

Our Helproom Editor explains how to take a screenshot on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 after it as been upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

QUESTION I recently updated the firmware on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet to Jelly Bean and now the icon which enables me to take screen shots is missing. How can I take a screen shot using the new firmware?

HELPROOM ANSWER The built-in screen capture function is still there, although the icon has been removed. To take a screen shot when using Jelly Bean, press and hold the power button, followed immediately by the volume down button. Hold down both until a white border flashes around the edge of your screen and then release.

Your screen shot will be saved automatically and you'll be given a notification of its success. Touching the notification will open up the image for you in the gallery app (or whatever other image-viewing app you may have set up).
