As PowerPoint presentations are stored in a complex format, it isn’t easy to share them if a recipient hasn’t installed Microsoft’s software on their PC. Scibd allows you to share presentations and other documents, regardless of whether or not the recipient has a copy of PowerPoint.

You don’t even have to sign up with Scribd to upload a PowerPoint presentation. Indeed, you can browse to the site and add a document immediately. Click the Upload link and, in the window that appears, click Browse… Navigate to the presentation you wish to upload and the process will begin automatically.

You can upload several files simultaneously by clicking the ‘Upload some more files!’ link. You will be taken to the Publish page. From here you can add Tags and/or Titles by typing into the appropriate boxes. This is useful for sharing multiple presentations, because it makes them easier to search for.

If you’re using Scribd to share business documents, ensure that you protect them by ticking the ‘Keep private’ box. You’ll be sent a URL with a secret code that enables you to access your document. Share the document by sending this URL to anyone you want to view your presentation.

You must sign up for a Scribd account to be able to edit and delete documents. Your anonymous documents will automatically be transferred to your new account. Once you’ve signed up you can view and share your presentations online. Click on My Docs to see everything you’ve uploaded.

Once your presentation is uploaded, sharing it is easy. You can download it in a variety of formats without the need for a converter. As Scribd automatically converts presentations into FlashPaper, these can be embedded into your own website by copying-and-pasting the code from the Embed box.
