QUESTION I have a shortcut on my desktop that’s supposed to launch my web browser and navigate to my ISP’s home page, sky.com. When I click on it, an error message reports: ‘could not locate internet’. My PC launches Internet Explorer, but I have to manually browse to the ISP’s website. I haven’t knowingly changed any settings. A Rawlins
HELPROOM ANSWER The web link from the shortcut may be corrupt. However, as it sounds as though you have ‘always on’ internet access, the easiest solution is to set your ISP's website as your home page in Internet Explorer. You can then click on the browser icon to achieve the same end result as your shortcut.
Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools, Internet Options. Type http://www.sky.com in the field for your home page and click Ok.
