Find yourself lost without BlackBerry’s signature BlackBerry Messenger despite all the bells and whistles of your iPhone? You’re in luck. You can now download BBM from the App Store, for free, to use like any other free messaging application. Here's how to download BBM on your iPhone

How to get BBM on iPhone and iPad.

Step 1: Download the App. Open the App Store and search for “BBM.” The official BlackBerry BBM app should be the first hit—it’s a free app. Click download and you’re well on your way to BBM’ing with your besties.

Step 2: Log in or sign up. Log in with an existing BBM ID or sign up for a new one. For those unfamiliar with this messaging app, much of BBM’s novelty is the ID itself. Instead of giving out your email address, name or phone number like in other messaging services, you’re identifiable by your unique BBM pin number, connected to your BlackBerry ID.

Step 3: Message away.

Be aware that the app is optimized for the iPhone 5, but as long as your Wi-Fi + cellular-enabled device is running iOS 6 or later, then you shouldn’t have any problems. BBM is compatible with iPhone and most Wi-Fi + Cellular iPads and iPad minis, including the latest iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display. That means BBM is a no-go for you iPod touch users out there.
