How to avoid gaps when printing Avery labels

Using Serif PagePlus

QUESTION I want to use the Avery label templates that came with my copy of Serif PagePlus to save time writing the address on envelopes. However, the program doesn’t skip ‘empty fields’, creating unsightly gaps in address labels. For example, the first label here has seven fields and the second has six. This is how Serif would print the two:

Brian Wilson
17 Sesame Street
Puppetville
Nr Stringfellow
North Alerton
N Yorks
DL1 1UN

I would be grateful for your advice. Brian

HELPROOM ANSWER Check the Serif website for any updates your version of PagePlus may require. The company is very good at promptly releasing fixes for reported problems. Note that if your source address list/database has invisible characters such as spaces, they will appear as blank lines.

Also make sure you aren’t using soft returns (Shift, Enter) between each line; using a ‘hard’ return (Enter) between fields should remove the spaces.
