How to register Outlook so Mobile Device Center picks it up

Help with synchronising your Windows Mobile device

QUESTION I used to sync my Dell Axim x50v’s emails, calendar and contacts with Outlook 2003. Having now upgraded Microsoft Office, the attempted synchronisation brings up the following error message: ‘Microsoft Outlook is no longer installed so Windows Mobile Center cannot continue to run’. I’m using Windows Mobile Device Centre 6.1, Microsoft Outlook Professional Plus 2010 32bit and, on my Dell Axim, Windows Mobile 2003 (Second Edition). Can you help me get things back to normal, please? John Addey

HELPROOM ANSWER This should be a simple fix, John. Run a repair installation of Outlook 2010 to ensure that it’s fully registered within Windows. Go to Control Panel, ‘Programs and Features’, then select Microsoft Office 2010 and click Change, Repair, Continue. This will make sure Outlook is correctly registered on your computer and allow Mobile Device Center to pick it up.
