How to fix folder view in Windows Vista 64-bit

Making sure your icons are correctly sized

QUESTION I can’t view folders properly on my Microsoft Windows Vista 64bit PC. I set the folders to show the view and icon size I wanted, then clicked 'Apply to Folders', ticked the 'Remember each folder's view settings' option and checked that 'Restore previous folder windows at logon' wasn’t selected.

But Windows is unable to remember my settings. I don’t have this problem with my Vista 32bit PC. Carl Hughes

HELPROOM ANSWER There’s a range of possible causes for this problem: corrupted Registry settings and icon templates and folder view cache issues are just a few of the possible culprits. There are too many to cover here, but you’ll find helpful advice and solutions at the Windows Vista forums, as well as PC Advisor's own Windows Vista forum.
