Gmail's PowerPoint viewer is a free tool you can use for sharing PowerPoint presentations. If you're using PowerPoint 2007, remember to save your presentation in the old .ppt format rather than as a .pptx file. Click the Office Button, Save As, PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentation.
To access your presentation online, email it to your webmail account and open it from there. To read your attached presentation online, click the View as HTML link. Your PowerPoint presentation will open in a new browser window on any computer, with or without Microsoft's PowerPoint software installed.
Note that your presentation will not retain all the formatting it would have when viewed in PowerPoint. Images are not downloaded and the presentation appears all in one window.
If you're working with a simple text-based presentation, sharing via Gmail is a pretty straightforward process. Despite the downfalls and limitations we outlined in step three, it's a quick, easy and free way to share Microsoft PowerPoint presentations via email.
