Smartphones, such as those running Google Android, all come with internal storage space for users to stash their pictures, videos, music and apps. Many handsets even offer the ability to increase this storage through a Micro SD card.

It's worth checking how much memory you've used up on your Google Android device every so often, to ensure you don't come unstuck and run out of space in the future. It's very simply to check how much memory has been used. Here's how.

Step one
From the Home screen, press the menu key and select Settings.

Step two
Scroll down and choose SD card and phone storage.

Step three
Now you'll be presented with the total space and how much has been used on both the phone's memory itself and any SD cards you have installed.
