How to set live wallpaper on a Google Android 2.2 device

Get an animated background for your smartphone

Smartphones offer plenty of customisation tools, ensuring you can personalise the device so it looks exactly how you want it. As well as setting different wallpapers or backgrounds for the home screen (or screens if you have multiple) on your handset, you can also add Live Wallpapers to your device. These are simply richer, animated, interactive backgrounds that are constantly moving even when you're not doing anything on your handset.

It's worth noting however that Live Wallpapers use more of your phone's battery and processing power, so in some cases you may see your handset's juice drain much quicker than normal, or find other tasks are slowed down. It'll depend on the individual wallpaper, although some allow you to choose between battery and quality. Here's how to set a Live Wallpaper on a Google Android device.

Step one
From the Home screen, press the Menu button and select Settings.

Step two
Select Live Wallpaper and then choose form the section available. This will start a preview of the wallpaper.

Step three
If you're happy with this, press Set wallpaper and your display will be adjusted.
