How to activate call waiting on a BlackBerry

Get an alert you that someone's trying to call when you're already on the phone

The call waiting feature on mobile phones means that users who are already using their handset for a conversation will be alerted, usually by a series of beeps, if there's another person trying to call them at the same time. We show you how to activate the function on a BlackBerry.

It's worth noting that not all smartphone owners will be able to access the call waiting feature. Some operators don't give the function to Pay-as-you-go customers, so if the option is greyed out, check with your network to see if you can have access to it.

Step one
From the Home screen, press the Send Key.

Step two
Now hit Menu and then select Options.

Step three
Press the Call Waiting option (this can sometimes be found in Call Management) and select Yes.

Step four
Now press the Menu Key and choose Save.

Step five
To disable the service just change the Call Waiting option to No.
