How to check the free memory on a BlackBerry

See how much memory is left on your device

Smartphones all come with internal storage space for users to stash their pictures, videos, music and apps. Many handsets even offer the ability to increase this storage through a Micro SD card, and BlackBerry's are no exception.

It's worth checking how much memory you've used up on your device every so often, to ensure you don't come unstuck and run out of space in the future. It's very simply to check how much memory has been used. Here's how.

Step one
From the Home Screen select Options (depicted by a small spanner icon).

Step two
From here select Status. The number displayed under File Total represents the capacity of the internal memory while File Free represents how much space is left.

Step three
Alternatively, if you want to check how much space remains on the memory card inserted into your BlackBerry (assuming your device supports them) Select Options from the Home Screen.

Step four
Now chose Media Card and the capacity of the memory card will be displayed under Total Space while Free Space indicates how much memory remains on the card.
