How to check my iPhone memory

Find out how much space you have left

We all know that iPhones can be used for more than just calling people and playing Angry Birds till your battery goes flat. You can also use it as an iPod, video player, eBook, digital camera and pretty much anything else you want thanks to the App Store. However all of these features take up space and sooner or later you're going to need to know how much memory you have left.

Here's a quick guide to show you how to find out how much memory your iPhone has left.

Step 1: Go to the home screen of your iPhone and open Settings.

Step 2:  Scroll down and open the General tab.

Step 3:  Open the About tab and look for the Capacity and Available headings. These will show you how big your iPhone's hard drive is and how much memory you have left. You can also see how many songs, videos, apps etc you have left here too.

If you want to find out what exactly is taking up the most room on your iPhone (music, videos or apps) here is an alternative guide to find a more detailed break down of your iPhone's memory.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone to your PC or Mac.

Step 2: Open iTunes and click on your iPhone tab under the heading devices on the left.

Step 3: At the bottom of the screen you will see a breakdown of what is using the most room on your iPhone and how much space you have left.
