How to fix a laptop with a blurry screen

Here's how to fix a laptop with a blurry screen.

Before you go fiddling with your laptop’s screen connections or downloading new drivers in an attempt to fix the blurry screen on your laptop, give this two-minute trick a go. Here's how to fix a laptop with a blurry screen. See all laptop reviews.

When your laptop screen is a little blurry, the chances are that is it is because the screen resolution is wrong. If this is the case, then don't worry; you can fix it in a couple of clicks. See also display reviews.

Step one:

If you're using Windows 7, then this is *very* easy, just right click on the desktop and then select Screen Resolution.

If you're using an older version of windows then it takes a little more faffing, but can still be accessed via Control Panel > Display > Settings/Personalise.

Step two:

The next thing you have to do is locate the Resolution dropdown box and then select the resolution that is correct for your screen. Windows 7 users should see (Recommended) next to the one that is correct for their laptop screen.

If you are not using Windows 7, then you may not have a recommended suggestion. If this is the case, then you need to do a bit of trial and error to find which resolution is right for your screen.

Step three:

Once you’ve selected a new resolution, Windows will give you a preview of what your new screen settings look like. If you're happy with them then select Keep. If not then click on the Revert button - or you can wait 15 seconds and it will automatically reset itself to the previous resolution.

That's it.

If your screen is still blurry (and it's not your eyesight or dust on the screen that is the problem), then you will need to check that all of your drivers are up to date and correct, failing that it may be a physical connection error.
