How to fix a faulty laptop trackpad

What to do with a jerky controller

QUESTION My laptop’s touchpad is jerky and scrolling doesn’t work in Internet Explorer 8. Can you help? Mike Harrison

HELPROOM ANSWER Go to Control Panel, Mouse and select the Synaptics tab. Now click Settings, Pointing, Sensitivity and try adjusting the Palm Check and Touch Sensitivity settings. If this doesn’t help, your laptop may have a faulty trackpad. Check whether your laptop is still under warranty.
