After a dramatic season, only the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers remain in the running to win Superbowl 50. With interest in NFL increasing rapidly in the UK, here's how to watch Superbowl 2016 online for free on Sunday, including the halftime show with Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars.

If you, for whatever reason, can’t simply watch Superbowl 50 on regular TV there’s no need to worry. There are various options available to you which mean you can watch on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, PC and other devices (for free).

Until the big game comes around on Sunday, Microsoft has given an interesting look at what the future of watching sport like the NFL might be like. Using its HoloLens the game could be watched on top of your coffee table with displays, player stats, instant replays and 3D holograms of players - all while your fantasy scores update in real-time. Superbowl 2016 date and start time UK

This year's Superbowl 50 will be held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California - home of the San Francisco 49ers. The game is on 7 February and will start at 11:30pm in the UK.

The Pepsi halftime show for Superbowl 2016 will feature British band, Coldplay.

How to watch the Superbowl 2016 online: BBC coverage

The easiest way to watch this year’s NFL Superbowl is to with the BBC after it took over coverage from Channel 4.

On game day, you'll be able to watch the Superbowl live and for free in a number of ways as it will be broadcast on BBC Two. This means you can watch via your TV or online via the website, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport app.

There will also be BBC Radio 5 live coverage and live text commentary on the BBC Sport website.

How to watch the Superbowl 2016 online: Sky Go or Now TV

If you’re a Sky customer with sports channels then you can use Sky Go to watch live coverage of the Superbowl. The Sky Go app is available on various devices. See also: How to use Sky Go on Android.

If you’re not a Sky customer then don’t worry because you can get Sky Sports coverage with Now TV which is also available on a large range of devices or simply a web browser. You’ll need to buy a Sky Sports Day pass for £6.99 on the day of the Superbowl.

Sky will be providing coverage of Superbowl 2016 on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 3 starting at 10pm. NFL coverage will be shown all week leading up to the big game including a series of The Timeline films.

How to watch the Superbowl 2016 online: NFL GamePass

If none of the above options take your fancy then you can use the official NFL GamePass to watch the Superbowl this year. However, if you don’t already have a subscription which includes the Superbowl, you’ll need to pay £34.99 for Season Plus making it a pretty pricey way of watching one game - although it does mean you can watch games on-demand from the regular season, playoffs and previous years for a few months afterwards so it's a good option for those who can't watch the Superbowl live.
