When you download files from the web to your PC, they are automatically stored in a folder, the location of which is set by your browser automatically. However, it is very easy to change this location yourself. We've already shown you how to change the folder items are saved to in Firefox 4 and Internet Explorer 9, but here's how to implement the change in Google Chrome.
From the tools menu, which is accessed via the spanner icon in the top right-hand corner, select Options.
Click on Under the Bonnet on the left-hand side and scroll down to the section marked Downloads. Press Change next to Download location.
Browse your hard drive from the window that pops up and select the new location you want your downloads to be saved in. Press Make New Folder and name it if you want to create a new location. Once the new download location has been selected, press Ok. Then close the Options section. Your downloads location has now been changed.
