Stack overflow error when sending webmail

‘Stack overflow at line:158'

One reader found that every time they sent an email via a webmail client, they received the error message: ‘Stack overflow at line:158', although the email messages went through. Our Helproom Editor explained the issue, and how to fix it.

QUESTION I get the error message ‘Stack overflow at line:158' each time I send an email through my webmail client. The messages seem to get through, but how can I stop the error message from appearing? Raysophie

HELPROOM ANSWER You aren't alone in experiencing this problem, Raysophie. It appears to be associated with Compatibility Mode in Internet Explorer. Disabling this (or enabling and then disabling it if it isn't currently enabled) may resolve the issue for you.

Yahoo recently posted a message that its engineers have resolved an issue with similar symptoms, so if you're using Yahoo as your webmail client then you may find that the problem has already been fixed.
