JavaScript is a programming language that allows websites to offer sounds as well as interactive menus and other features. To ensure these facilities are available when you surf the web, you'll need to enable JavaScript on your browser.

We've already shown you how to do it in Firefox 5, but it's slightly different to implement in Internet Explorer 9. Here's how.
Step one
From the Tools menu located at the top right-hand corner of the browser window, select Internet options.
Step two
Select the Security tab and then press Custom Level.
Step three
From the Security Settings - Internet Zone window, scroll down to the section marked Scripting, and ensure Enable is selected next to Active Scripting. Alternatively, to turn off JavaScript, select Disable. Press OK and then Press Apply.
