How to change your default search engine in Safari

Use a search engine that suits you

If you're using Apple's Safari browser, you don't have to use the browser's default search engine, when searching via the bar in the top right-hand corner of the browser. Instead you can change the default search engine to suit you. Here's how.

Step one
Open Safari, and then using the icon that looks like a cog, open the settings menu and select Preferences.

Step two
Use the drop down menu next to default search engine to select the one you want. Then press the X in the top right-hand corner to close the preferences menu. The search engine will now be changed.
