How to change your default search engine in Internet Explorer 9

You don't have to rely on Bing

When it comes to Internet Explorer, Microsoft uses its own search engine, Bing, as the browser's default. However, in just a few clicks you can easily change it to a search engine that suits you. Here's how.

Step one
Open the tools menu using the cog-shaped icon in the top right-hand corner and then select Manage add-ons.

Step two
In the right-hand window, select the search engine you'd like as a default and then press Set as default.

Step three
If the search engine you want to use is not listed, Visit the IE9 gallery and scroll through the list. Select the search engine you want and then press Click to install. Select Add from the window that pops up and then the search engine will be added to your default list.
