Following yesterday's workshop on recording a podcast using Audacity, PC Advisor will guide you through uploading your podcast to the internet.
Now we'll upload our podcast. We're using the Office Live site we created last month.. Go to File and select an export format. MP3 will be easiest for your fans to play, but you'll need the Lame MP3 Encoder.
Next we need to create a podcasts page on our website where listeners will go to download the audio file. Log in to your site. If using Office Live, click Manage Pages, then New page. Select the General template and name your new page Podcasts. Fill in the URL and navigational details as appropriate.
Next we'll add the audio file to the website's Document Gallery. Click on Document Gallery on the lefthand side of the home page and then Upload. Hit Browse and locate the audio file you created earlier. Now select Add and Upload. It will take a few moments for the file to upload.
Back in the Page Manager screen, click on Edit next to your new Podcasts page. Name your podcast, highlight the text and click on Hyperlink. Hit Document, Select document... and choose the audio file from the list, then OK. Visitors to your site will now be able to right-click on the text to download the podcast.
