Introduce music and videos to your MySpace page

Now we’re going to introduce some music and video content to the site. Songs are a breeze – the hardest bit is picking a tune out of the millions on MySpace. Once you’ve decided, head to the artist’s page and simply click the Add button next to the relevant song.

The song will appear in a player below your personal details. You can make it play automatically when someone opens your page. Go to Account Settings, Music Settings and deselect Disable My Player from Automatically Starting. Many will find this irritating, so think twice if you’re trying to attract their business.

Next, we’ll add a piece of video content. If it’s on or MySpace’s own video section, the procedure is straightforward. Simply copy-and-paste the embed code into the Edit Profile section. You’ll find that MySpace videos refer to the embed code as Video Code.

The video player now appears on your MySpace page, but if the YouTube user takes the content down, it will no longer work. An alternative, if you've got clips on your hard drive, is to select Add/Change Videos, Upload, then upload it yourself. A range of formats is supported, including .wmv, Mpeg and MP4. J
