How to turn your Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 into a digital photo frame

How to use Daydream in Android Jelly Bean 4.2

Daydream is a new feature in Android Jelly Bean 4.2 that in essence turns your Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 into a digital photo frame, displaying a slideshow of images when idle. It can also display a clock, Google Currents articles or colours.

Daydream isn't for everyone, but if you have photos of your children, pets or whatever languishing in the tablet's mass storage, it's an opportunity to give them an airing and, certainly, more entertaining than staring at a black screen. Here's how to configure Daydream on the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

How to set up Daydream in Android Jelly Bean 4.2

Step 1. Drag down from the top-right of the Nexus 7 or Nexus 10's screen to access the Settings menu, then tap Display in the lefthand column. Tap Daydream in the main panel.

Step 2. If Daydream is switched off, use the slider at the top of the screen to toggle it on. Daydream can display either a clock, colours, articles from Google Currents, a photo frame or a photo table when the tablet is idle. Select the radio button beside your preferred option.
