I have been dual booting Windows XP and Ubuntu, but am finding it difficult to get on with Ubuntu.
I want to wipe Ubuntu and reclaim the disk space for XP.

Any advice will be welcome.

A.) Use Disk Manager in Windows to delete the Ubuntu partitions.

B.) Boot off your Windows XP CD.

1. Choose “Repair”
2. When it asks for the installation number, put in “1?,
3. Enter Admin password.
4. At the command prompt type “fixmbr”, then confirm. Windows will overwrite the dual boot info in the MBR that Ubuntu put there.
5. Reboot!

Many thanks.
Are there any precautions before I commence ?
Will XP remain intact ?
Also I am not too sure I have an Admin Password.

Many Thanks

I shall save everything I need on Ubuntu and go for a painless extraction of it from my PC.

Fingers crossed.

One last question....

I have done exactly as Fruit Bat suggested and all went well.....except that in Easeus Partition manager it shows as C:(NTFS) 37032mb and Unallocated 39286mb.

So the disk is still partitioned and I wanted that space back for XP.

Did I do anything wrong ?

Bump

I have discovered I cannot merge the partitions without losing all my data.
Can I just massively re-size with Easeuse as an alternative.

I don't want to loose everything......again.

Yes you can.

I now have one massive partition......that is and exaggeration, I have enlarged the XP partition as far as I dared, and all is well.
