I have run a Windows upgrade advisor to see what i have to change or will not work with Windows 7 from XP and one of the things it bought up was that the current Graphic Adaptors will not be good enough to run Run Windows Aero.
Could someone please advise where i can find replacement adaptors and where are they situated in the tower

It seems that 4850 gfx cards are getting this from the Upgrade Advisor, but will happily run Aero anyway.

What's your present graphics adapter & motherboard make + model?

Use the free SIW click here (Standalone version) to determine both. Run the program & look under:
- Hardware > Motherboard
- Hardware > Video

pjwheeldon, s/he has not mentioned any 4850 graphics cards? G

I got that too on my notebook which uses a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 Go card, I think there's something wrong with the advisor as others are getting the same warning.

I thought it wouldn't run Aero and indeed Aero was disabled when Windows 7 installed but after reading another post in these forums I tried switching themes and Aero started working.

Thanks for the details. I can confirm that the 8600GT (the 'graphics adpator') will run Win7 Aero with no problem at all.

I'm running Win7 RC on one of my PCs via the motherboard's low-end integrated graphics. G

I'm using a GeForce 9800 GX2 myself which you could say is, for all intents and purposes an SLI setup, although both graphics cores are on the same card.

I just use Option 2 on the NVIDIA site "Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products"(click here) when updating drivers, it installs a small program which detects your card and lists the right drivers to use, the latest drivers are 191.07 and they work fine on my machine, I can't see them not working on yours.

You do not need to replace the cards to get Windows 7 to work. If it works on a low end card like my notebook, aero will work on your system.
