£800 worth of goods.

"By accepting the caution, they formally acknowledged their guilt. "

If you earned that, would you slip your old mum a few bob, to stop her half inching things.

as you seem to think.

"If only it was as simple as you seem to think".

Taken from the storey in the Sun.
"His mum and mother-in-law live jet-set lives thanks to his huge wealth. They have have been flown all over the world at Terry’s expense to watch him play, including at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.
So John Terry has in fact been quite generous towards the two women and "slipped them a few bob" as cream puts it in his opening posting.

Then the story in the Sun goes on to say
"Terry’s lawyer Angus McBride insisted the pair were entirely innocent and were victims of an “unfortunate misunderstanding”.
Mr McBride said they would not have agreed to be cautioned had they realised they were admitting guilt and will be taking legal action to clear their names.
He added: “They didn’t do anything wrong. They didn’t have legal advice and weren’t aware they were admitting guilt."
So they may even not be as guilty as they appear to be. Well no I don`t believe that either but you never know. As F.E. wrote
"If only it was as simple as you seem to think".

Cymro.

There's a clue in the line

"Taken from the storey in the Sun."

Never known for telling the whole story if half of it is more interesting...

Almost certainly, had she not been who she was, she and her friend would have ended up in court.

They both were caught loading goods worth £800, taken from Tesco and M&S, into a car. Now her lawyer says, "They didn’t do anything wrong".

Perhaps they both suffer from psychiatric problems, otherwise it seems to me a straight forward case of theft.

"They didn’t do anything wrong"

They ought to be sectioned under the mental health act.

Delusions of MP hood.

Almost certainly not the case.

A person who has never received a caution or has no criminal conviction is likely to be prosecuted on their first arrest for shoplifting. They will most certainly be offered a caution.

Also taken from the sun

" The pair were stopped and taken to the security office - where they allegedly LAUGHED as police turned up to arrest them."

" Officers were said to have searched Pooles VW and found bags of M&S clothes not paid for"

If it was untrue, I am sure Mr Terry and Chelsea would have there lawyers putting a block on the story.

You could be right. :-)

Well Tesco is the official England Supermarket -whatever that means, and M&S has supplied clothing for the England squad. Perhaps these two assumed they were entitled to the stuff by asociation, unlike the rest of us mere mortals.

Who remembers Lady Isobel Barnett?

There are many instances of people stealing from shops when they could quite easily afford to pay.

So what are you saying FE

"These women offend, not out of need or greed, but because of an inexplicable compulsion. "Obsessive behaviour is much more common than people think. Compulsive shoppers and shoplifters are predominantly middle-aged, middle-class, well-to-do women, who feel enormous guilt and shame. These women are profoundly depressed already. They have very high standards for themselves, are perfectionist, and in every other way law-abiding, upstanding citizens. "

They need our understanding because of their difficult circumstances.

Or if they are your local chav, druggie or council house dweller suffering from the menopause, doing a bit of lifting.

Lock the sodds up and throw away the key?

Is it one law for some and another for the masses?

They must have realised being given a caution that they were admitting guilt, this would have been explained to them prior to it being given, probably by the Custody Sergeant.

Nice to see Mother and Mother in Law being great friends and partners in whatever they.

Not often you see that!

It never rains, but it pours,,,

It seems that Tesco are to sue for the out of pocket costs incurred click here They also still claim they 'didm't do it guv', and that they didn't know the implications of a police caution.

I doubt that with the high profile this has, that Tesco would pursue cost claims without being very sure that they will win. I get the impression that thry believe any bad publicity they get from this will be outweighed by their positive and public action against crime.

I also find it hard to believe that the implications of a caution were not fully explained at the time.

The Sun describes this John Terry individual as a "hero".

Why?

He's paid handsomely for for doing that. Does he want a George X as well...?

No, I don't think he's ever suggested any such thing. What a preposterous thing to say.

Yes,

It's as preposterous as the 'hero' description.
