Okay I'm going to have to Rma this as on the first boot I did notice: "Cmos Bad Check Sum Error On First Boot"
So the CMOS battery is dead? I think I'll ask for a refund and get a decent board I do not reccommend this one.

Make sure the BIOS reset jumper isn't in the 'reset' position. If it's like my Asus boards then it should be on pins 1 and 2 not 2 and 3.
Also try another battery.

Easy enough to get one. It's probably a CR2032 and many supermarkets stock them.

Have you managed to update the BIOS OK? You didn't say...
The BIOS checksum error could also be due to certain BIOS settings being incorrect.
Could also happen after a BIOS flash. After a successful flash, one usually returns to the BIOS to specify settings to enable the system to boot OK. Did you do this?
Regarding the constant beeping - this could be the memory or memory controller. You didn't mention this again, so is this OK now? If not, ensure the RAM module(s) is slotted in fully & all the retaining lugs engaged. G

No success was met when trying to flash. It goes *beep* *beep* for each line on the ez flash screen. The beeps don't occur on other screens.

hey Kawlos,
One thing, i had exactly same problem as u have. Couldnt update it and didnt work.
Tried cd, dvd, removable disk, usb stick
Last thing i tried was floppy and it worked. Why didnt it work on several of others i tried, i dont know. But you should find a working floopy drive, floopy disk, download, extract and copy new bios file, on your floppy, rename it to exact name as it says in your motherboard book then just follow ez flash bios update from asus website and it should work with ease.

The latest is the bios still needs updating. It says I need to update to run at full potential. I can't see where the Cmos Bad Check Sum Error On First Boot" was or has gone. Although I can't seem to see it now and I haven't done anything since I latest turned it on. I haven't even got a new battery yet. I am going to try and rename to what kraftwerk said. I'll keep you up with it.

I tried it with the 402 file renamed as p5sd2vm.rom no success. As you're probably aware craft the annoying flash beep if you have the speakers in as it looks. It stops beeping and looks at the floppy, then says file not found and continues to look through again...

Please god help me. I've tried 5011 renamed and no success. Its beeping only when on flash screen obviously to show its looking for it. IT stops beeping when its checking the floppy. Then when it says it can't it will start beeping until it comes around to checking the floppy again and does the same.
My dad's annoying me with stupid questions like are you sure its wired up correct, and I can't deal with these stupid questions.
Any idea please to save me from insanity here.
TAke it easy, Hope everyones having agood weekend and not too caught up in the christmas rush. Karl

Have you tried a different floppy drive, disk and cable just in case there's a problem with any of them.

regarding the floppy drive would an external one work as well or would that just be plain silly as it would be the same as a usb stick working.
I'll order depending on this.
to thms: I get no prompt as it says on that page. Should I put the floppy in before or after it goes onto the flash screen?

I'm not sure a USB floppy would work. However give me a few minutes and I'll test it out. I'll have to find a floppy disk though:o(
