I've been expecting XP1 to install automatically via the Update service but I suspect it hasn't. Any suggestions for looking at an Update that will signify it has done so. I can see fairly routine Updates for Defender etc (and Office 2007 that I recently installed) but not SP1.

Control Panel, System and Maintenance, welcome Center, show more details (top right), if you have it it will say Service Pack 1 at the end of the details on the Vista edition.

Thanks. It didn't show up but when I clicked on Updates in Control Panel>System it offered me them manually. Wonder why they didn't come down automatically as everything else does?

I think because it's being phased in so the manual option is a quicker route.

Go to the Windows Orb (Start) type winver and press Enter. If SP1 is installed it will display ‘Version 6.0 (Build 6001: Service Pack 1)’.
