mad1234 I'm still waiting too. I've been having problems with customer services for my current provider, and Sky will be cheaper for me since I already have Sky for TV viewing.
However, they're not giving much away as to when it will be available where. All I can say is sign up as an interested party, and await the emails!

I too am in the north east. I've registered with Sky and had a couple of emails from them indicating that it should be available by end 2006 in my area. These are just auto generated emails which are sent to my email address which I used when registering an interest. Sounds daft - but did you give them correct email?

Just being doing a bit more research to find out roll out dates. Appears their services rely on LLU which they have partnered with Easynet. At present this is not available on my exchange with no indication as to when it may happen. According to the Sky blurb they aim to have 70% of existing customer base covered by end 2007.
You can check current status of your local exchange click here

It all sounds a bit of a haphazard method of introducing a broadband service to customers.

If i were you I'd sign up with a service which doesn't penalise you for leaving early, and just wait for Sky to reach you. Freedom2surf have a 6 month minimum contract without penalty - if you leave earlier you just have to pay the original connecting fee back: around £49. click here can help you find out more...

I would like to move to sky, but I am having touble getting my MAC code out of Orange. I have been with the same provider since 2002, did try and move in 2005, might even have been 2004, but I gave up trying to get my MAC code after, phoning, e-mailing and writing.

TC That was the norm then - the race by ISPs to get new subscribers early last year when broadband become more widely available and even cheaper led to the free offers.

I registered an interest with Sky and they e mailed me that they would be in touch in a week or two.In the middle of the third week they e mailed me again and said it was available if I wanted but to get in touch in 10 days as I was first in the queue.I signed up for the Max pack with phone calls for £15.They reckon it will be up and running inside 14 days.I am on day four at the moment,so heres hoping.I must say whenever I have had dealings with Sky they have been totally on the ball. My golf parner ,who lives three miles from me has been told he cannot have it yet as his exchange has not been unbundled yet. They offered him Sky Connect for about £17.99 plus £40 connection fee with an automatic update when his exchange is updated.

mad1234 Perhaps we can do a swap.My router has still not arrived.I have now made seven calls yesterday and today to find out where it is.Have been shunted from one department to another with nobody who has the nouse to pick up a phone to find out where the router has gone after it was supposedly despatched at the beginning of last week. Two of the operatives actually said "Sorry mate, there are a lot of you in the same boat".This made me feel really good.My internet is due to be transferred today so I am going to be happy tomorrow.I said in an earlier post that Sky are always on the ball.Well,I take it all back. I may,or may not be in touch in the future.
