Check if you have the right "bit" version. You can't install 64 bit OS on a 32 bit PC.

This error can also be caused by the way that the hard drive is configured in the BIOS. Try going into the BIOS set up and changing the hard drive SATA mode from AHCI to ATA/IDE

SP1 = Service Pack 1.

Check if your install DVD has Windows 7 with service pack 1 already built into it. You can download and burn a new DVD to use with your product key.
