Chipset driver installation for Windows 8.1

I would like to know if the installation of Intel X58/ICH10R chipset drivers is required after performing a clean install of windows 8.1 or does windows 8.1 install its own drivers for this chipset? If I have to install the chipset drivers that I used for windows 7 then do I use the compatibility mode for the installation?

Thanks for any solution to this.
