I plug it into tv and computer and the picture comes in clear but the sound wont play through tv. I went to manage audio devices and the only things that come up are speakers and lcd tv. The lcd tv is already the default device. I tried to right click and check the options. But no hdmi cable option comes up.

I have to do this when I wish to hear audio via my PC as I have a sound bar attached to my monitor.

Right click the speaker icon in your notification area, (right side bottom),then click on playback devices and you should see your TV listed and either click on it and it will turn blue and then click on Set Default or right click your TV and click on Set as Default Device.

The nuisance with this method is it is necessary to reverse the process when you are not using the TV as your monitor.

Plug in into your microphone socket into TV card sound socket. I think your problem will solve.
