Installing Backup Files

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can give me a little guidance. I've had to replace my failed HDD, I had done a full backup before the failure and these are jzip files. I need guidance on how to reinstall these backup files on to my new HDD, I can install the 'Catalogue' files, I get some of the folders on to the new HDD but there no files in folders. Will I need to install the 'jzip' software before attempting a backup re-installation? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am running Vista Home Premium.Thanks. P.

What have you used to back up your old drive,i thought that jzip was just software for compressing files?

I copied my backup files to an external HDD, and the backup was converted to jzip files to apparently save space. P.
