Installing Backup Files

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can give me a little guidance. I've had to replace my failed HDD, I had done a full backup before the failure and these are jzip files. I need guidance on how to reinstall these backup files on to my new HDD, I can install the 'Catalogue' files, I get some of the folders on to the new HDD but there no files in folders. Will I need to install the 'jzip' software before attempting a backup re-installation? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am running Vista Home Premium.Thanks. P.

What have you used to back up your old drive,i thought that jzip was just software for compressing files?

I copied my backup files to an external HDD, and the backup was converted to jzip files to apparently save space. P.

So you havent copied an image to your external drive,using something like Acronis?
