downloaded win8 pro dec 2013 at special price. yesterday blue screen with "windows 8 errors-repairing and will restart" continuous loop all night. only course was to reinstall vista from dell disc - which stated that all files would be saved in documents. No files nothing how do I go back to win 8pro and regain files? barry

Dec 2013? - put your win 8 disc in the drive - switch/log off - switch on - it should load from disc and click on repair.

As you've reinstalled Vista, go to Computer, double click the C: drive and see if you've a folder called Windows old. If it's there then that is where your documents will be.

If you formatted the drive before installing Vista then you won't have the Windows Old folder.
