My computer will not open downloaded files

Hi For the past couple of months, every time I download an '.exe' file I get the message "Failed - Blocked". These are just standard updating of application files, e.g. Roboform and Adobe.

It's driving me mad. Please help. Thank you.

Which security program, firewall, browser is giving the blocked message? and do you have 'permission' in your account to download .exes (W7 UAC maybe blocking) could be that you need Administrators account permission.

I will check Bitdefender to see if it's blocking. What is W7 UAC? BTW I am the Administrator

Depending on how you set up your account, you may possibly find that in W7 you only think you are a full Administrator.....
