Patch Tuesday included a patch for IE10. Why?

The last set of patches included one for patching IE10, although our PC's have not taken this step yet. Should I still install this patch?

If you haven't got IE 10 you won't need the patch for it. I have found on W7 some of the items I'm 'offered' don't apply to my home pc setup.

Anyway I figure if I ever do need them in the future, I can go to Windows Update and do it manually.

I think that you will find that it for the installation of IE10, rather than just a patch.
