want to change boot up

Hi Guys

I am setting up an absolute beginner with his new laptop/W8 and although I am advancing with my configuration, I am stuck.

I just followed the "Tech Republic" method of changing to a desktop start up, but the w8 window still appears on boot up.

I want to boot up direct to desktop, and followed the instructions step x step.

Also want to avoid having to log in

Any advice welcome, same goes for removing log on password action

George

Or, how about treating a new OS as it should be used and not adding possible corruptions, faults, at a later date.

Look at this Win 8 forum and see how others use this operating system.

Might be an eye opener.
