Win 7 admin account

I just had a new motherboard fitted and now find that my admin account cannot see everything on the PC. Moreover my user+admin account has lost its admin properties. Currently (as advised by the repairer) I am trying to put all my settings onto the admin account in the (defective thought it is) and have been partially successful. Still however I am finding it difficult to get some settings onto the admin account, for example Thunderbird and Skype are not working. Is it possible for me to find the settings and add them to the admin User account under C:\Users ?

Was this replacement motherboard different from your original? Was Windows 7 reinstalled after new motherboard fitted?
