Installing W7 on raid - Clean Install from XP Pro

I have 2 x Seagate 250Gb drives set up in a raid 0 format. I currently run XP pro and am wanting to install W7 64 bit as a clean install. I have booted from the disc and selected volume 0 as the drive to install to. It informs me that there is an operating system already on the partition and advises my old setup will be save as windows.old. Great. However, that is as far as I can get with the install for W7. Is there a 'simple' way of getting W7 to install on a current raid setup or do I have to point the install to the raid drivers on my 'A' drive. If I format the drive/raid, will I lose the raid and return to two seperate hard drives? Hope someone can help. Thanks.
