thanks for the feedback, trawled the webs of various software none mention W.7

The microsoft scan shows no software problems but do not trust it as it id's my printer as the wrong one.

This Windows 7 forum click here states that Nero 8.3.6.0 works in W7 - also lists other compatible applications.

thanks, found my nero was a version short, 2 restarts and 126mb download and nero 8 is now upto latest version of nero 8
