Installing Oct release of windows 7

I am presently running Windows 7RC. When I receive my pre-ordered retail Windows 7 disc in October will I have to do a clean reinstall or can I upgrade from it? Thus allowing me me to save all my data/applications currently in use in the RC version

I am saving as much as I can to a second hard drive but it wouold be nice to think I don't have to.

Anyone know the answer?

Microsoft recommend a clean install. Check their Windows 7 RC installation instructions and the link to the complete instructions on how to uninstall the Pre-release version.
