Hi everbody

Can anyone tell me if this printer is compatible with Vista Home Basic, please? Doesn't appear to be from Epson's own website, but I wondered it anyone was actually using one with Vista.

Many thanks

I would be amazed if it wasn't. How old is it?

I have an R200 that works with Vista home premium running on a lap top and a desk top.

peter99co - this is the problem I have found - vista is not mentioned in specs. Is this because the specs were written before vista came out? Or does the printer not work with vista. It is secondhand (friend) and is about 3 years old.

I've just spent 2 weeks trying to get an R200 to work on Vista. Epson said all I had to do was plug it in and Vista would find and install a driver for it, in the end I had to install the driver from the Epson site after a clean factory default restore before plugging it in for it to work... and then 2 days to reinstall my programs again:(

Oh dear, Quickbeam. You should get 10/10 for persistance! So far it's not looking too good. I'll wait and see if anyone has actually tried the
R300 on Vista Basic, but it looks as though I'll have to turn down my friend's kind offer. I could sell it for them on ebay, though!

I don't see why it should not work with Vista. You will have to download the Epson Easyprint module from click here.

I did this with my Epson D88 which doesn't have Vista listed and it works fine. The software interface is slightly different from that in XP but otherwise ok.

Further to Quickbeam's post. Don't just plug it in and let Vista find the driver. Download and install the Vista drivers first then follow the prompts. The order of install is important.

It will work (I've got one) but the cd printing won't.
There are forums around to overcome this but results vary.
Go to Epson for the drivers.

Thank you ashdav. If you've got one and it works (don't want the cd printing anyway) that's good enough for me. Thanks everyone for the tips about loading drivers first etc.
