Anti-virus problems anyone?

Since I installed the beta software I have encountered two problems.

First, I started getting BSOD crashes, and the crash dump told me that the problem was a file called SASKutil.sys

I tracked this down to SuperAntiSpyware, and once I had opened up msconfig and disabled the software in the startup list Windows 7 loaded without further problems.

Secondly, BitDefender 2009 is turned off, and cannot be turned on again - I repeatedly get the message that BitDefender services can't start.

What anti-spyware software are you running that is stable in Windows 7?

Tried Norton 360 had driver being blocked by windows as causes known stability problems and windows will inform me when a solution is found, not got one yet so ended up with AVG8

Bit Defender works fine on my test system. AVG will not. Superantispyware will error out, even if disabled in msconfig.

A new beta sli driver was available today, but will not install, apart from that, not much else has gone wrong really.

Today I installed Trend Micro Internet Security and straight away the machine began to hang and then gave me a blue screen of death. On re-booting it took 10 mins to log on to my desktop and was very slow. Trend displayed its firewall and being switched off and when I tried to check I could see that the programme had got stuck while frozen and then blue screened again.

I did a system restore and the machine was fine again. I'll try Norton 360 later and see how I get on with that.

Selection of issues raised here, it would seem that different system configurations act in very different way's.

I first tried AVG 8 free, and that would not work and was the devils own job to get rid of. Had the same issue with Superantispyware, but could not resolve it with msconfig.

Installed Bitdefender and whilst it work's fine, it seems to be stuck in hyper aggressive mode, asking me every time I visit a page on the web, even if I have added it to the white list.

It does however scan ok, and adaware also works well, as does ccleaner.

I also had Blue Screens after installing Kapersky, AVG, Norton (The Windows 7 versions)

After reading another forum, I installed ESET
NOD32 beta 4, and hurray no more BSOD!!!
