This might be a classic example of the "lies, damned lies, and statistics" syndrome, because by the time Vista gets into the mainstream of the corporate market large numbers of these machines will have been replaced as a result of normal network updating cycles.

A lot might depend on how Vista is received by the early-adopter userbase, after the January/Feb 2007 launch, and on the incidence (or scarcity) of vulnerability reports that follow. If market feedback is good - as it was with Windows XP - corporate users will be encouraged to migrate earlier, rather than later, and that will drive hardware replacement/upgrade initiatives.
