Missing Wireless Settings

Hello, Sorry for the rooky question but am going mad! I have just purchased an ASUS desktop PC from PC world and am completely new to Windows 8. My WiFi doesn’t connect and I am trying to check the wireless settings. Under PC Settings my manual shows “Wireless” between “Devices and “Ease of Access”. Only it isn’t there! Where can it be? Click on the desktop icon to open it up.Then click on the internet connection on the Taskbar.
Or control panel. network and sharing center.
Right click on the very bottom left of the screen and click on Device manager to see if you can update the driver from there.
Just something to try till someone can help.
Sometimes switching the router of for 10 seconds and then switching it back on helps.
