Word template Office 2010 and Windows 8

I have Windows 8 Pro and Office 2010. Opening a new Word document the template puts a 10pt space between every line, so I have to change every document to zero.

How do I save it as a new default setting?

There doesn't seem to be any 'Help' assistant with my new setup of Windows 8 and Office 2010.

Open a blank document, on home tab select change styles/style set and select Word 2003 re click on change styles and select set as default.
