Windows 8 Laptop Internet Drop

The wifi on my new laptop with windows 8 seems to change connections every few minutes. Many people seem to be having this problem and its making my laptop quiet useless.

click here the above link a man seems to be having the same problem I'm having.

I'd appreciate some help because when your wifi drops every five minutes it makes it difficult to do... anything :P

Have you tried both options in your link and rebooted? Also you can check in device manager, expand Network adapters, find your wlan adapter, right click and select properties, power managment and check both boxes unticked.

Easiest way to device manager from the desktop is to left click the 'Start' icon bottom left.
