I have a problem with my laptop and it has to go back to the manufacturer. I must set it to factory settings before I send it and so my questions are
- How do I save a complete copy of everything, files, programs, docs, emails etc on an external drive so when I get it back I can restore them all
- How do I then set it to factory settings so that all of my personal data etc is wiped off the laptop
Many thanks Andrew

Normally tapping F10 or F11 will give you the choice of restoring to factory setting providing that you have that on your laptop.
Checking in My computer should tell you if you have it or not.
Maybe the make and model number of you laptop may help others to explain how you do it properly.
Part 1, I don't have a clue as I have never tried it before so can't help you with that.
